The contest seeks to identify, encourage, and nurture mathematical thinking among Vietnamese youth in the era of global integration.

Students will compete in two stages with the preliminary round held online on June 22. Participants can register individually and take the test from home via the platform https://www.aimo.edu.vn/.

Those who pass the preliminary round will advance to the national final, an offline event scheduled in Hanoi on July 6. Winners there will secure their place in the international final, set to take place in Tokyo, Japan, from August 2 to 6.

This event is part of the Politburo’s breakthrough initiative to promote national progress in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Mathematics, as a fundamental discipline, not only sharpens logical thinking but also acts as the “common language” underpinning advanced fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, and digital engineering.

AIMO is one of Asia’s largest and most prestigious international mathematics competitions for high school students, held annually since 2012 by the AIMO International Executive Committee under the Asian Mathematical Olympiad Association.

All exams and answers are delivered entirely in English by the AIMO International Organizing Committee.
