That very night, rescue forces were present to search. Many people stood guard by the riverbank all night long, hoping for a miracle to happen.
By the afternoon of October 15, the bodies of two girls – VHB (4 years old) and VGT (5 years old) were found, nearly 3 km from Cua Hoi bridge. The father – Vo Van D. (born in 1993, from Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan) was also found not long after. All three father and children have passed away forever.

After more than 2 days of searching, the authorities found Mr. Vo Van D. |
The cause stems from family conflicts
According to relatives, Mr. D. and his wife, Ms. BTY (born in 1999), used to work abroad together, and after returning home, they opened a small business. Recently, the couple had conflicts and quarreled for a long time. Mr. D. fell into a state of stress and depression and often complained to friends about being "helpless with life".
On the afternoon of October 13, he took his two children out, then sent a text message to his wife saying “please take care of my parents”, along with the location of Ben Thuy bridge. He also sent money to his relatives to “take care of the funeral” – a sign that he intended to end his life.
In just a few short minutes, tragedy struck. The man, filled with personal despair, took two innocent children with him. The whole small family disappeared into the cold Lam River, leaving behind haunting and endless grief for relatives, friends and the local community.
Behind a desperate act
From the relatives' accounts, it can be seen that the main cause of this action stemmed from marital conflicts and prolonged psychological crisis , causing the father to lose control and find no way out.
It was not only a heartbreaking incident, but also a warning to every family that when conflicts and pressures are not shared, tragedy can come at any time./.
