Strong earthquake in Myanmar, Thailand: Many children in distress

Earthquakes in Myanmar have had a devastating impact on children and families. Two large earthquakes have shaken the country with epicentres near the city of Mandalay – the first 7.7M followed by a 6.4M in Sagaing city.

Many people in central Bangkok panicked and ran out of high-rise apartment buildings and hotels. The Bangkok metropolitan area, home to more than 17 million people,

mainly in high-rise apartments, also affected by aftershocks.

Myanmar officials said the country recorded at least 25 deaths and 81 missing people after earthquakes occurred on March 28.
