The Minister emphasized that, over 71 years of development and growth, the Vietnamese health sector has continuously expanded, accompanying the country's development. In any circumstances – from the arduous wartime period to the period of peace and integration; from challenging epidemics to the demands for comprehensive reform of the healthcare system – the medical staff and workers in the health sector have always maintained a spirit of responsibility and dedication to the health of the people.

2026 is considered significant as it marks the beginning of a new term, the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, along with many major policies and orientations for socio-economic development in the 2026-2030 period. In particular, the Minister stressed that Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on some breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care, and improvement of people's health is an important political basis, setting forth the requirement for strong and comprehensive reform of the health sector.

To effectively carry out tasks in 2026 and beyond, the Minister requested that the entire sector continue to focus on strengthening primary healthcare and preventive medicine – the foundation of a sustainable healthcare system; improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at all levels; and ensuring that people have access to quality healthcare services right from the grassroots level.

Along with this, the tasks include perfecting institutions and policies; removing bottlenecks in healthcare mechanisms and financing; promoting administrative procedure reform; and developing sustainable health insurance, aiming for universal health coverage. The health sector also needs to accelerate digital transformation, build a synchronized and interconnected healthcare data system; and apply information technology and artificial intelligence in management and medical examination and treatment, contributing to improved service quality and transparency.

The Minister also emphasized the role of population work in the new context; strengthening food safety management; and ensuring equity in access to healthcare services among different regions and population groups. This is not only a professional requirement, but also a political responsibility of the entire sector to the Party, the State, and the People.

For each official, doctor, and medical staff member, the Minister urged them to continue upholding the glorious traditions of the sector; constantly strive to improve their skills and professional expertise; and innovate their service style and attitude towards professionalism and dedication, placing patients and the health of the people at the center of all activities.

Healthcare facilities need to build a cohesive, disciplined, professional, and transparent working environment; strengthen administrative discipline and order; proactively adapt to digital transformation and international integration; and at the same time, care for the material and spiritual well-being of healthcare staff, creating motivation for them to work with peace of mind and dedicate themselves to long-term service.
The Minister affirmed that the health sector will successfully complete the assigned tasks in 2026, contributing to building a more modern, equitable, efficient, and sustainable Vietnamese healthcare system, meeting the trust and expectations of the Party, the State, and the People.

On the occasion of February 27th, the Minister of Health sends best wishes to all officials, civil servants, employees, and workers in the health sector and their families for good health, happiness, and continued progress on the noble journey of caring for and protecting the health of the people.

The museum is envisioned not only as a repository preserving invaluable historical documents and artefacts of the Party, but also as a vivid and authentic reflection of the Party’s revolutionary journey. It will serve as a “red address” for revolutionary tradition education, helping to nurture faith and ideals among cadres, Party members and the public, especially the younger generation, while introducing international friends to the Party’s role and contributions to national liberation movements worldwide.
