At the program, Dr. Tran Doan Tien - Editor-in-Chief of Children's Health Magazine officially launched the program "For children's smiles" in 2025. Dr. Tran Doan Tien said: Currently, the whole country has nearly 4 million children in special circumstances, including 2.2 million disabled children and orphans.
"Over the past decades, the Party and the State have always paid special attention and had mechanisms, policies and regimes for children with disabilities. Many organizations, agencies and authorities at all levels have organized many activities to mobilize, donate and help children in special circumstances, in order to alleviate their disadvantages and difficulties.
However, many children in special circumstances are still facing many difficulties. Many disabled children still struggle every day and every hour with physical pain due to paralysis of limbs, or due to being mute, deaf, mentally ill, mentally retarded... Among them, there are many cases with sequelae, severely affected by Agent Orange, many children live their whole lives in illness and medicine." - Dr. Tran Doan Tien, expressed.
