According to the decision by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the project will officially begin on the date of signing and continue until July 11, 2025. This is an important step toward improving the quality of life for disadvantaged children while also enhancing local medical capacity, particularly at Children's Hospital 1.

The project’s objectives go beyond providing surgical cost assistance for children with cleft lip and palate, expanding to include orthodontic and speech therapy services. This comprehensive approach ensures a full recovery, helping children reintegrate into society with confidence and good health.
Furthermore, the project focuses on establishing a continuous, holistic treatment model, which will promote cleft lip and palate care within the medical community. It will also improve infrastructure, modernize equipment, and strengthen the skills of healthcare professionals through training and specialization development. Additionally, scientific research related to cleft lip and palate treatment is encouraged and supported, helping to elevate the quality of pediatric care in Vietnam.
To ensure effective, continuous care, the project will mobilize interdisciplinary collaboration among departments such as Dentistry, Otolaryngology, Surgery and Anesthesia, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Psychology, and Nutrition. Other specialized departments will also participate in monitoring, evaluating and recording treatment outcomes, creating a high-quality, comprehensive and continuous care system for affected children.
The "Support for Treatment of Children with Cleft Lip and Palate" project reflects Ho Chi Minh City's deep commitment to improving the lives of children, while promoting healthcare development and bringing hope and a brighter future to disadvantaged children./.
