Vietnamese students win big at 2025 Regeneron science and engineering fair

Vietnamese students have achieved their best results yet at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF 2025) in the United States, bringing home two second prizes, one third prize, three fourth prizes, and four special prizes from sponsors.

Vietnamese students shine at 2025 Regeneron science and engineering fair

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam sent nine projects to the competition held in the United States from May 10 to 17. The projects were selected from 212 entries submitted to to the 13th National Science and Technology Competition for high school students.

The two second-place prizes went to Huynh Huy Hung and Nguyen Nhat Tuan Kiet of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Da Nang for their project on TalkieVBot- Robot to support education for children with language disabilities; and to Do Ha Phuong and Nguyen Duc Thai from Viet Duc High School in Hanoi for their project on high-performance lithium vanadium oxide oxidation material for environmental treatment.

Founded in 1950, ISEF is the world's largest global science competition for high school students. This year’s event attracted about 1,700 students from over 60 countries and territories from around the world who presented their research projects.

The competition offers an opportunity for future young scientists to engage in exchanges with their peers and renowned scientists, including Nobel laureates who work as judges.

Many large businesses also came to the fair to seek innovative ideas.

Vietnamese students have been participating in the contest since 2012 and have brought home plenty of prizes. Last year, they took home a second prize in the Systems Software category./.
