(SKTE)- Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hòa Bình warmly inquired and encouraged the children of Đắk Lắk province in particular and across the country in general, especially those in areas affected by natural disasters.
On the evening of September 14, the Central Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, in collaboration with the People's Committee of Đắk Lắk province, organized the Mid-Autumn Festival program "Lanterns Lighting Up Dreams" with the theme "Mid-Autumn with Friends Returning to School," attended by more than 1,700 children from various ethnic groups in Đắk Lắk.
The program was attended by Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hòa Bình, along with representatives of ministries, agencies, and the provincial leadership of Đắk Lắk.
The event was broadcast live and connected with 13 locations in other provinces and cities, including Thái Nguyên, Tuyên Quang, Lạng Sơn, Hải Phòng, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên Huế, Đà Nẵng, Lâm Đồng, Bình Dương, Bình Thuận, Hồ Chí Minh City, Tiền Giang, and Cần Thơ.
In his speech at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hòa Bình warmly encouraged the children of Đắk Lắk province and across the country, particularly those in areas affected by natural disasters.
On behalf of the Party and State, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the children for their outstanding achievements in academics and personal growth, and their efforts to overcome difficulties and contribute to the community. He expressed his hope that they would continue to uphold the proud tradition of Vietnamese youth, nurturing patriotism and national pride from a young age to help build a prosperous and happy nation.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Mid-Autumn Festival is an ancient traditional celebration tied to the beautiful cultural values of Vietnam. It is a time for adults to remind themselves to care more for children, with love, responsibility, and meaningful actions, especially for those in special circumstances, orphans, and children in remote, border, and island regions, or those affected by natural disasters like storms and floods.
He called for concerted efforts to ensure that all children can live safely and healthily, study, be creative, and enjoy their childhood in the love of their families, communities, society, and authorities.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Party and State consistently prioritize providing the best for children, the future generation of the country. He urged all levels of government, ministries, agencies, parents, teachers, youth union members, social workers, and businesses to continue taking practical actions to care for and support children, providing the best resources and conditions for them to learn, play, and fully develop, regardless of their location, age, or background.
He expressed his wish that every child could enjoy a warm Mid-Autumn Festival with their loved ones, continue to follow Uncle Hồ's teachings, be filial to their grandparents and parents, respect their teachers, be polite to elders, unite with friends, and help those in difficult circumstances, especially those suffering from the effects of storms and floods. He encouraged them to stay in school, work hard, and develop good character and skills to become future leaders of the country.
Throughout their journey, the children will always have the love, support, and encouragement of authorities, organizations, and individuals in the community.
The resilience and aspirations of the children will continue to be supported and motivated by kind hearts and helping hands, providing them with the confidence and strength to pursue and realize their dreams.
The Mid-Autumn Festival Program featured vibrant performances from different locations, bringing a joyful atmosphere to children from all ethnic groups in Đắk Lắk and the connected provinces.
During the program, the organizers presented 200 gifts to disadvantaged children in Đắk Lắk, including 100 children who received scholarships worth 1.8 million VND each (1 million VND scholarship, school bags, and Mid-Autumn gifts), and 100 children who received bicycles and Mid-Autumn gifts valued at 2.3 million VND each.
Additionally, 500 children attending the event were given gift sets worth 550,000 VND each, including school bags and Mid-Autumn presents. The provincial Youth Union and local organizations also presented 1,000 gift sets to the children.
According to the organizers, this is the 12th year of the Mid-Autumn Festival for Children and the 4th year of the "Lanterns Lighting Up Dreams" program, organized by the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers. The aim is to bring a joyful and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival to children in difficult circumstances.
The program also serves as a way to share love with the children, encouraging and empowering them to stay in school, with the hope of supporting and nurturing their dreams to come true.
