She said that this year the United Nations chose the theme of “Girls’ vision for the future”. This message aims to call on the world to give more opportunities to girls and raise awareness of gender inequality in areas such as education, nutrition, health, protection from discrimination, violence and no more child marriage.

Overview of the event

Over the past few years, Cau Giay district has always paid attention to and attached importance to population and development work. Aiming to promote gender equality and reduce gender imbalance at birth, it is necessary to invest in care, education, love, sharing and helping girls in difficult circumstances.

Regarding the gender imbalance at birth in Cau Giay district, Ms. Trinh Thi Luc said that the district’s sex ratio at birth has gradually decreased from 110 boys/100 girls in 2021 to 109 boys/100 girls in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, this ratio is estimated to be 109 boys/100 girls. Although there has been an improvement, this number is still at an alarming level.
