It is expected that data from more than 1.7 million students will be collected, helping the health sector identify school-related diseases and provide timely intervention. In October 2024, the Department will organize online training for medical workers, prepare forms and software for student health management.

Implementing Plan 5880/KH-UBND on September 30, 2024 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the Project "Smart Healthcare for the period 2021 - 2025 and vision to 2030," the Department of Health will begin to digitally convert student health data from the 2024-2025 school year. Thereby, the city is expected to have a health database of more than 1.7 million students. This will help the health sector monitor and identify school-related health problems, thereby providing timely care and intervention.

For more than a year, the Department of Health has closely coordinated with the Department of Education to prepare for this digital transformation process. Activities include standardizing health examination forms, guiding the process of health examination and screening, organizing training for medical staff, as well as building software to enter student health examination results.

From the 2024-2025 school year, all medical examination and treatment facilities participating in student health check-ups at schools will have to use the form issued by the Department of Health and enter the results into the Community Health Management System. To ensure compliance with regulations, personnel participating in health check-ups will have to attend online training courses organized by the Department of Health.

The Department of Health will organize three training courses from October 7 to October 27, 2024, with the participation of lecturers from leading specialized hospitals and related units.

The training content will focus on nine topics on school disease screening, how to use new examination forms and online software to manage student health.

As of October 6, 2024, 2,966 medical staff from 28 hospitals, 19 medical centers, 59 clinics and more than 500 educational institutions have registered to participate in the training course.

The list of facilities eligible to conduct student health examinations will be made public on the health sector's electronic information portal, making it convenient for schools to choose.
