Children’s Health Magazine officially launched

Editor-in-Chief of the Children’s Health Magazine spoke at the event

The event was attended by representatives of central agencies, ministries and sectors: PCC Commission for Popularization and Education; Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Information and Communications, Central Council for Literature and Arts Theory and Criticism, Vietnam Relief Association for Handicapped Children and leaders of a number of provinces, cities and press agencies, businesses and entrepreneurs.

On October 6, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued a license to operate the Children’s Health Magazine, in both forms: printed and online magazines. The online Children’s Health Magazine is in two languages: Vietnamese and English.

This is an important development step marking the upward transformation of Love & Life Magazine, the predecessor of Children’s Health Magazine, after more than 21 years of formation and development.

The launch of the Children’s Health Magazine is vital to meet the requirements of the development of journalism and media life, and is also consistent with the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Relief Association for Handicapped Children and the work of taking care of children’s health and handicapped children in the current period.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, PCC member, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission of Popularization and Education, and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, congratulated the magazine, the staff, reporters, editors and employees while stressing that the launch of the magazine meets the new requirements and demands of 2 million children with disabilities and special circumstances. This is also the main target for the magazine to carry out its tasks and functions.

Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission of Popularization and Education, highly appreciated the operation of Love & Life magazine after 21 years of establishment and development, with important results and achievements in the field of caring for disabled children and children in special circumstances.

Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao, Deputy Director of the Press Department, Ministry of Information and Communications, presented the decision to the magazine.

“The magazine needs to make strong efforts in innovating to become one of the leading press and media agencies on the care of disabled children. The magazine must be a forum, a place to communicate, receive and process information reflecting and responding to readers' opinions on the Party’s policies and the State's laws on children,” Thuy stressed.

Mr. Ngo Sach Thuc, President of the Vietnam Relief Association for Handicapped Children, said that the establishment of the Children’s Health magazine is an objective necessity, consistent with the comprehensive renovation of the country as well as the renovation of the press, while at the same time better fulfilling the tasks of the association the current period.

With the message of “For children’s smiles”, Dr. Tran Doan Tien, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine said: "The magazine’s important mission and goal in the coming time and in the next 10-year development roadmap is to continue to actively contribute to the development of the Party and State’s policies on child care and protection, especially children with disabilities.”

In the coming time, all activities of the Children's Health Magazine will be comprehensively renewed, synchronizing the content of the two printed and online versions. In particular, the magazine will pay special attention to innovating the method of communications on taking care of children's health, applying techniques and technologies to create modern magazines to convey and spread the message “For children's smiles” to the public and readers./.
