SIPAS 2024: Positive shift seen in citizen satisfaction with public administrative services

On the evening of April 8, two Vietnamese working groups - from the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Public Security, returned to Hanoi, successfully completing their humanitarian missions in Myanmar. The groups were deployed on March 30 to assist with search and rescue efforts in Myanmar following the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake hitting the country on 28 March.

Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain Pedro Sánchez is paying an official visit to Vietnam from April 8-10 at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Vietnam and Spain established diplomatic relations on May 23, 1977. Over the past nearly 50 years, the bilateral relationship has grown intensively and comprehensively.

April 7th is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as World Health Day. Each year, the day focuses on a specific theme to raise awareness and encourage global action on health challenges. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Central Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses emphasised the goal of completing the programme by October 31, 2025, while chairing the committee's third meeting to review progress and set future tasks. So far, over 65,000 houses have been completed and handed over, while more than 56,000 are under construction.

In January 2025, seven export items exceeded 1 billion USD in turnover, accounting for 67.9% of the country's total export value.

The Huong Pagoda Festival welcomes visitors from February 3 to May 1, 2025 (from the 6th day of the first lunar month to the 4th day of the fourth lunar month). This year’s festival marks a significant milestone as the Huong Son Complex, a nationally recognised special relic site, has been officially designated a municipal-level tourist area.

Based on the continued restructuring and streamlining of the organisational apparatus of the ministries and agencies under Resolution 18 by the Politburo, the Government structure for the 15th tenure (2021-2026) is expected to consist of 14 ministries and 3 ministerial-level agencies, a reduction of five entities.

By the end of 2024, the disbursed FDI capital in Vietnam is estimated to reach approximately 25.35 billion USD, up 9.4% compared to 2023, marking the highest disbursement level ever recorded. Total newly registered capital, additional capital adjustments, and foreign investors' capital contributions and share purchases are estimated at nearly 38.23 billion USD.

At the invitation of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh along with a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government, visit Laos and co-chair the 47th Meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee on January 9-10, 2025.
