Children, particularly girls, are often targeted by these actors due to their lack of self-protection skills and naivety when using the internet. They use many tricks such as seduction, manipulation, and threats to force children to film and take sensitive photos, then threaten them to blackmail or demand that children do what they want. Those who exploit emotions and pretend to be in love can defraud property or abuse children.

Child abuse has serious consequences. The long-term health and development of abused children is severely impacted by psychological damage. These injuries can remain with children throughout their lives, hindering their healthy development and confidence.

Faced with this situation, local police forces are actively participating and implementing many measures to mobilize the strength of the entire community to participate in the prevention and suppression of crimes against children on the internet.

Authorities coordinate with departments, branches and unions to strengthen propaganda, education, and dissemination of legal knowledge related to child protection. The goal is to help people clearly understand the methods and tricks of criminals, thereby raising awareness and self-protection.

  • Do not post personal information or private images online.
  • Avoid providing information or images to strangers online, especially via webcam.
  • Don't meet people you know online in real life without adult supervision.
  • Ignore, block, and report accounts that harass, bully, or make inappropriate suggestions.
  • Always ask your parents before downloading or installing any software on your phone or computer.

If children encounter any difficulties when using social networks or the Internet, encourage them to share with their parents, teachers, or contact the National Child Protection Hotline 111 to receive support timely.

It is our responsibility to prevent crimes against children in cyberspace. Together, we can ensure that all children grow up in a safe and healthy environment.
