Since many northern provinces and cities are currently focusing on recovering from the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3 and subsequent flooding, MOLISA has requested that the People's Committees ensure the Mid-Autumn Festival activities are carried out in a safe, economical, and meaningful manner, avoiding any form of extravagance—especially in areas affected by the storm and natural disasters. It is advised to avoid large gatherings of children or unsafe locations, particularly in areas impacted by typhoons and floods. Instead, events can be organized online, broadcast on television, or gifts can be delivered to children if feasible.

Programs, events, and celebrations should be simplified, reducing the number of performances. The primary focus should be on reading the letter from the General Secretary and President to children for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024. Priority should be given to delivering Mid-Autumn gifts to children in special circumstances, children from poor or near-poor households, children from ethnic minority areas, remote and border regions, islands, orphans, and children affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods.

MOLISA also emphasized that during the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival activities, efforts should be made to educate children about the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, and the traditional saying "The good leaves protect the worn-out leaves." There should be updates on the situation of storms and flooding in affected areas, encouraging children, families, and communities to share, donate, and support those impacted by storms and floods so that affected children can return to school and stabilize their lives as soon as possible.

Previously, on July 15, 2024, MOLISA issued Official Document No. 3099/BLDTBXH-CTE to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities, requesting that the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and units to organize safe, healthy, meaningful, and economical Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children. It also suggested linking traditional Mid-Autumn values with tourism promotion events, showcasing the cultural and culinary uniqueness of each region. Additionally, localities were encouraged to organize activities that engage and create opportunities for children in special circumstances, particularly those in economically disadvantaged areas, to participate.
