Interviewer: Doctor, the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children has been very successful after 10 years of organizing the "Lighting Up Hope for Children" program. The "Nurturing Compassion" program is one of the activities within this overall program. Through this, what message do you want to convey about the power of kindness? When we "nurture" a seed of compassion today, what values will society "reap" in the future for the younger generation of Vietnamese children?

Chairman Ngo Sach Thuc: In 2025, the Association will have organized the "Lighting Up Hope for Children" program 10 times, providing opportunities for learning, screening, surgery, rehabilitation therapy, and vocational guidance for millions of disabled children nationwide. The program has instilled hope and love for life in these children, while also fostering support and sharing from family, friends, and the community. This love and hope will give them the strength to overcome their limitations. The sharing of others is the foundation for them to rise up and grow. I highly appreciate the "Nurturing Compassion" initiative.

The "Lighting Up Hope for Children - Nurturing Compassion" program embodies enduring core values with profound significance for today and the future. Responding to "Nurturing Compassion" spreads the spirit of love and tolerance, awakening the "good" within each person – the foundation of social morality. This helps children, especially vulnerable and disabled children, believe they are not being left behind.

The belief ignited by community care is the driving force behind children's positive lives. Nurturing belief in the younger generation means giving today's society more positive energy and tomorrow's citizens more confident and responsible. Compassion sown today will become the cultural behavior of tomorrow's society, contributing to the development of the core values of Vietnamese culture.

The program not only provides material gifts but also opens up opportunities for access to healthcare and education, helping the children integrate into the community.

Interviewer: "The 'Nurturing Compassion' program runs in parallel with the 'For Children's Smiles' project of the Children's Health Magazine, aiming to support 2,000 children in special circumstances during the upcoming Lunar New Year of 2026. How do you expect the 'seeds' of compassion sown through this program to help these children access healthcare and education more equitably, so that truly 'no one is left behind'?"

Chairman Ngo Sach Thuc: This is a "2-in-1" program, diverse in its expression but sharing a common goal. That is, to bring gifts to disabled children and children in special circumstances to help them realize their dreams, support their steps, and ignite their faith. The Lunar New Year brings love, good fortune, and many smiles to these children.

We hope these seeds of compassion will contribute to the renewal of the Association's content and methods of operation. We are strongly shifting our activities towards the mission of connecting and spreading awareness. Connecting the needs of children with disabilities with educational, medical, legal, and psychological services to facilitate their integration. Spreading love, encouraging inspiring examples of overcoming difficulties, and promoting good deeds for children with disabilities.

Connecting with more businesses and philanthropists will help create a more sustainable partnership. Over the past 10 years of the "Lighting Up Hope for Children" campaign, many organizations and individuals have responded by donating gifts, scholarships, surgeries, and livelihoods to millions of children. Let everyone show compassion through simple actions. A gift during Tet (Lunar New Year), whether big or small, is meaningful. Small acts can have big implications. The support we give these children today is not just material; it's about giving them hope and opportunities to rise in life.

The collaboration of businesses and philanthropists is a crucial resource for "keeping the flame alive" and spreading humanitarian values.

Interviewer: "One of the core objectives of 'Nurturing Compassion' is to honor organizations, businesses, and individuals who have made significant contributions. Sir, what is the strategic significance of this recognition in 'keeping the flame alive' for philanthropists and inspiring the next generation?"

Chairman Ngo Sach Thuc: Honoring organizations and individuals under the theme "Nurturing Compassion - Lighting the Flame of Hope for Children - For the Smiles of Children with Disabilities" has profound significance. Through this honor, we affirm the value of human beings, that "people live to love one another." Children with disabilities are not a burden but subjects who have the right to be loved, respected, and to develop.

Those who sow love are the ones who "light the fire," "keep the fire burning," "pass on the flame," and are the "guiding light" that helps children believe in themselves and their future. Honoring them through practical actions will contribute to improving their learning, healthcare, and rehabilitation conditions.

For charitable organizations and individuals, this is an opportunity to recognize and spread kindness. This recognition is a fitting expression of gratitude and encouragement for those who have been silently contributing. We multiply examples of good people and good deeds to create long-term motivation and foster deeper social responsibility. In a context of many pressures, stories of compassion help to "warm up" society and strengthen bonds. Each act of kindness today is a seed sowing hope for the future of children with disabilities and for our society as a whole.

Interviewer: Thank you very much, Mr. Chairman, for participating in this interview!
