Previously, in early June 2025, through the work of grasping the situation, the authorities discovered a facility in the area with signs of manufacturing and trading counterfeit goods. On June 17, the Economic Police Department conducted a surprise inspection of the headquarters of An Thinh Food Company (Hamlet 6, Thi Tran, Do Luong Commune), with Phan Thi Mai as director and legal representative .

At the scene, police seized 3,934 barrels (cans) of Keva Gold brand vegetable cooking oil, with a total volume of 37,618 liters, determined to be produced by this company.

According to the investigation results, An Thinh Food Company was established on March 26, 2024, with the main business being the production of animal and vegetable oils and fats. After going into operation, Mai organized the construction of a factory, purchased machinery, raw materials, and hired workers to produce cooking oil under the Keva Gold brand for sale on the market.

However, for the purpose of profiteering, Phan Thi Mai directed the production of cooking oil without adding Vitamin A as prescribed but still printed on the label the information "fortified with Vitamin A" to deceive consumers. In addition, Mai did not recall the products already in circulation on the market.

The results of the professional assessment determined that the company's products had an actual sodium index of less than 0.3 mg/100g - less than 1.3% compared to the declared content on the product label (23.7 mg/100g) . All cooking oil produced by An Thinh Food was determined to be counterfeit.

Currently, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police is continuing to investigate and expand the case, clarify related subjects and strictly handle them according to the law.

The investigation agency requests organizations and individuals who have purchased vegetable oil from An Thinh Food Company to contact Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ha Dung, Investigator of the Economic Police Department (Phone: 0986.456.786) to provide information to serve the investigation.
